LICC - A Dream becomes a Reality

Having a purpose-built Mosque and Community Centre in Lucan was a dream of the community for many years. Alhamdulillah, now the dream has become a reality.

For many years, Muslim families living in Lucan kept struggling to meet their and their children’s Religious, Spiritual, Cultural, Educational and Social needs. All was was being temporarily managed with several limitations at rented places with temporary and limited facilities. Several individuals and groups, having true sincerity to the cause, endeavoured to provide some of the needed services to the community. No doubt, their efforts did compensate for some of the deficiencies, but could not eliminate the need for a purpose-built permanent structure.

From year 2000 to year 2020, after 20 years of continuous efforts, South Dublin Maktab finally succeeded in securing a site and county council’s decision to grand planning permission to build Lucan’s first Mosque and Islamic Community Centre. ALL PRAISE BE TO ALLAH.

A long lasted dream of the Community is, Alhamdulillah, now becoming a reality.
